
Dr Deirdre Healy is an Associate Professor in Criminology in the UCD Sutherland School of Law. She has a longstanding interest in community sanctions, desistance and rehabilitation and has also co-edited two collections on Irish criminology: Histories of Punishment and Social Control in Ireland: Perspectives From A Periphery with Lynsey Black and Louise Brangan (Emerald, 2022) and the Routledge Handbook of Irish Criminology with Claire Hamilton, Yvonne Daly and Michelle Butler (Routledge, 2015). Deirdre is currently working with Dr Louise Kennefick (University of Glasgow) on the Histories of Probation in Ireland project. She is also a member of the European Society of Criminology’s Working Group on Community Sanctions and Measures.
