Tygh Field is the Director, Operations – Probation and Parole for Queensland Corrective Services and has been in this role since July 2014. He holds a Masters of Criminology awarded from Griffith University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Behaviour awarded in 2005. He has also undertaken a Diploma of Correctional Administration through Queensland Corrective Services in 2007.
Tygh has had a varied career within Queensland Corrective Services having commenced in 2005 as Probation and Parole Officer working across a range of locations prior to working as a Supervisor and Manager within front-line operations.
The Queensland Probation and Parole Service supervise over 22,000 individuals subject to a range of community based orders. Queensland Corrective Services are also responsible for the management of over 8,000 individuals in custody and their pathway through the system. Tygh has a background in Governance, Performance and Operations having worked in the corporate environment since 2008 spending time leading the Governance Compliance and Risk team within Statewide Operations (across both Custodial and Probation and Parole) including being fortunate to receive an Australia Day Medallion for this work in 2010.
Tygh is currently leading a QCS wide project to progress implementation of end to end case management across Queensland working towards a single offender assessment, planning and case management pathway through the system to support behavioural change and prepare for release to the community. Tygh maintains close connections with key stakeholders, notably involvement with Griffith University. He currently chairs the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice Industry Advisory Board and, in 2016 was the Young Alumnus of the Year for the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
